Do the twigs have buds that are covered with several scales, and fruit that is an apple or single-seeded cherry?

Do the twigs have buds that are hairy and without scales? Fruit is a black, fleshy berry 1/3-1/2" in diameter with 2 to 3 seeds. 

It is a Cascara buckthorn.
